History of Keller

Keller was settled by a group of Missouri homesteaders who eventually built a cotton gin, a grist mill, a blacksmith shop and a few general stores. An all-important railroad depot was added in the 1880s providing a handful of new villages along the railroad. Keller became the largest and most well-known of the settlements – primarily because of the hardwood trees in the area and their proximity to a good water supply, the Trinity River.
