How to Choose the Right REALTOR®

Give one of our EXPERTS a call @ 866.761.5217 or Contact Us for more information about the local area!

There is a difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent or broker.  A REALTOR® has their real estate license to sell real estate but they also belong to the National Association of REALTORS®, as well as their local board or association of REALTORS®.

REALTORS® follow a strict code of ethics, share information on homes they are marketing through MLS listings, and have a greater knowledge of what’s on the market.  It is important to choose the right REALTOR®, which Nu Home Source will help with.

How to Choose the Right REALTOR®

Nu Home Source Realty is a Dallas - Fort Worth based Real Estate company that offers help to those that are in the market to purchase or sell a home.  When you work with a Nu Home Source REALTOR® you will have an advantage in the real estate market.  However, it is important that you choose the right  REALTOR® for you.

  1. Start with asking friends and family if they’ve worked with a REALTOR® that they recommend.  Ask them questions about the professional and ask them if they would recommend and use them again themselves.  Word of mouth can yield productive results.
  2. Look in your local phone book, or here on the Internet for REALTORS® in your local area.  You should choose a professional that is local.  Once you have narrowed down your search then make a list to interview the REALTORS®.
  3. It is important that the professional is a good fit for your needs.  Each professional will be different and you want someone that you are comfortable with and who is knowledgeable in the home buying and selling process and who provides the level of involvement that you want. When you meet with the agent have plenty of questions.  Ask them information about themselves, how many homes they’ve listed and how many homes they have sold over the last six months.  Ask what their average length of time from listing to sold averages How long they’ve been in the business and what professional organizations they belong to.  Ask if they have a support staff and how often the will hold open houses.  Ask them to determine a listing price and what it is based on. Ask what the listing agreement entails, also ask what types of things separate them from their competition. You will also want to ask what disclosure laws apply to you and what you should be aware of.
  4. You should interview at least three REALTORS® before you make your decision.

Having the right REALTOR® makes all the difference in the buying and selling process.  Nu Home Source Realty is here to help with any questions you may have or to help you get started in your Dallas - Fort Worth home buying and selling real estate transaction.
