Rockwall, Texas is the county seat of Rockwall County, and has a population of over 18,000. The city has a great demographic, evenly dispersed throughout the population, with most residents comprised of married couples, new families, and even retirees as well. The area is known for a better living standard, which is felt through higher income levels and much more superior housing.
The past of Rockwall is given to the Caddo Indians, who originally occupied the area. The Creek Indians then moved to Rockwall during the early 1900’s, with the first Anglo-American residents arriving in 1851, there to begin digging wells.
Housing in the area remains pristine, with costs ranging from $200,000 up. The area’s top employers contribute to the great economy in the area, with companies including Texas Star Express, Rockwall ISD, Wal-Mart Superstore, City of Rockwall, Target Corporation, and others as well.
Schools of Rockwall are within the Rockwall Independent School District, with 2 separate high schools in the city. There is even the Higher Education Center in the city, offering higher education, with the Texas A&M offering classes through the center.
