Clark, who was a Supreme Court Justice and was part of the decision that made public school segregation unconstitutional in 1964, the idea of his civil rights decisions still inspires. The school presently believes that all students need strong extracurricular activities as well as academic programs. Open communication is also an ideal, and innovative strategies and solutions are goals. Clark high school also stresses the idea of involvement in the community and society in general. Partnerships in the community, responsibility and character-building are important goals of both the teachers and students. Athletic programs and teams at the school include swimming, football, basketball, track, soccer and baseball. Water polo, tennis and golf are also athletic activities here. Clubs abound at Clark; included are Asian Circle, Band, Bowling, Brave New Voices for writing, Chess, German, French, Film, Interact for Community Service, Drama and many more. The FHF Club(Friends Having Fun) encourages non-disabled students to meet and interact with those with special needs.
