McKinney North High School Programs
While many McKinney North students and parents may have to cross the dreaded busy intersection of U.S. 75 and 380 to get to the high school, it's well worth the time. Students at McKinney North demonstrate excellent academic performance, and as a result, the school was recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
The school was given a gold performance commendation for its social studies performance and a Texas Success Initiative commendation for its ELA program.
In addition to its academic scores, McKinney North offers a wide variety of performing arts programs including choir, band, orchestra, dance and an award-winning Wintergard team.
Sports teams do well at McKinney North, as well.
The school's football team was recently ranked as fourth in Texas by The Dallas Morning News.

McKinney's school district is rapidly growing, serving more than 24,000 students and enrolling 1,000 to 1,500 new students each year. McKinney ISD has earned a number of awards for its performance and commitment to education, including the 2012 Sunny Award for its online financial transparency.
