Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary School Offers
At Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary School, students are treated like individuals, not like a mass array of kids who are all learning the same thing at the same pace. Those who excel in school are able to work faster than those who don’t. To keep the students who excel from becoming bored, and to keep the students who may have a little trouble from becoming discouraged, staff at Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary have designed special programs that will keep kids learning and happy. The special education program, the PPCD program, the ESL program, and the ACCEL program are all designed to help kids with trouble learn at a pace that is better suited to them. No one wants to feel discouraged, and that is the purpose of these programs.
School Academics
Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary School is one of the schools in the Mansfield ISD that relies on parents to become active in the program. Kids whose parents are active in school are more active in school. This means these kids learn more, like it more, and want to come back every day. When kids love school, they want to learn, which is something they will carry with them throughout their lives.
