Keller Independent School District
Located on Parkwood Hill Boulevard, this school states that it "will inspire students to achieve academic and personal excellence through collaboration of a diverse community and a safe, nurturing environment." In addition to the standard fifth and sixth grade programs, Parkwood Hill also has special services for ESL students, students with dyslexia, students in need of special education and students who qualify for the gifted and talented program. Parent and students can access information about the student's particular classroom or program through the website. Therefore, they can stay on top of what is happening in school even after the final bell has rung for the day.
With the bulldog as a mascot and purple, white and green as the school colors, Parkwood Hill students show their spirit during the school day from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. However, they also engage in an array of afterschool activities that help to sharpen their creative skills especially in the fields of art and music. Fifth and sixth graders are also eligible to participate in the Keller ISD A+ Art and Music Contest, in which scores of students compete to see who has the top knowledge in these areas. Additionally, the Fine Arts Department has held spots in some championship competitions.
