Bluebonnet is a K-4 grade school with 705 students at 7000 Teal Drive. GreatSchools gives it a rare high ranking of 8 out of 10. It rates well in the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) standardized testing. The school typically exceeds state averages, many times by substantial margins. In 2011, in 4th grade writing, 99% of the students participating in the testing met Texas proficiency standards.
Commentators suggest that the school's facilities are among the best. Students enjoy three playgrounds. In addition to its demonstrated proficiency in educating students in english and math, Bluebonnet Elementary School is also known for its education in art, and for its academic contests.
