Comstock Elementary School Offers
For over 20 years, Friso ISD has provided students with the opportunity to engage in after school programs. Comstock Elementary offers students programs from Alpha Best and the YMCA. These programs allow students to learn, explore, and grow outside the standard boundaries of the school and help to shape the children into the leaders of tomorrow. Frisco ISD operates the QUEST program for gifted and talented students and special education programs for students with special needs. School counselors are available to assist students.
Policies
Like many schools, Comstock Elementary School has standards of conduct for its students. The standards are thoroughly discussed in the school's provided handbook. Broadly speaking, students are responsible for maintaining textbooks, students must meet dress codes, and students must not be disruptive. Attendance is compulsory in the absence of medical or religious circumstances. Should questions or disputes arise regarding these standards, parents and students have multiple opportunities to appeal decisions made by the school staff. For particularly gifted students, Comstock Elementary offers students the opportunity to obtain credit by examination for advancement for students in the first to fifth grades. If a student is recommended by a district representative and passes all the tests with a score of 90 percent or better, he or she will be permitted to advance a grade. Â Â
