Colleyville is a small city with an area of 13.1 square miles lying in the northeast part of Tarrant County in Texas, USA. The city is only 12 miles away from the International Airport at Forth Worth/Dallas and is considered to be a part of the Fort Worth Metropolitan area.
The city was settled in 1850s by a group of European settlers. Starting originally as a farming community, the city gradually emerged as one of the well planned city in the vicinity. Its name came from a famous local doctor Lilburn Howard Colley. The incorporation of the city was on 10th January, 1956.
Although the city started as a rural area, the gradual development of this city has transformed into a desirable residential area with its parks, museums, schools, churches and local shopping zones. The well established communication and transportation system from and within the city has made this place really attractive for businessmen and job holders.
The current population of the city is 33,484 and it is increasing gradually. Due to the ongoing real estate developments in the recent years, the economy of Colleyville is quite robust. These new jobs and the amenities have become quite appealing and caused an influx of residents into the city. Since most of the estate development is new, the real estate pricing of this city is one of the most expensive ones, not only in Texas, but also in the United States.
