Allen is a city, located in Collin county, Texus, United States. Before the settlers came from different parts of Europe and america in the middle of 19th century, Allen was inhabited by different indeginous groups like Caddo and Comanche. These groups were then migrated towards west and finally settled near the northern part of Red river within the Indian territory. The township of Allen was based on cattle-agriculture until the Houston and Central Texas Railroad was established.

The economy started to change from that time as the rail track could be used for transporting the crops throughout the whole country. In 1907, the Texas Traction Company came into the scenario and constructed the interurban line, connecting regions from Denison to Dallas. The route went through the city Allen, making it as a stop. At this point, a devastating accident changed the future of the city for a while. In 1915, a fire hazard destroyed the interurban tracks; as a result, the economic growth of the city was declined completely. The city of Allen was once again officially composed in 1953. The construction of US 75 in 1960, gave the city necessary boost and help to develop the infrastructure towards an express development.

Today, the city is populated with over 84,000 people (according to census, 2010). The total area of this city is 27.1 square miles (70 km2). There is almost no water area in the city except for few small ponds. Considering Allen for owning a property can be quite a good decision as the crime rate is really low at this region.

The city has a wide range of properties for people who want to move into this community, such as new homes of different sizes, bank-owned properties, apartments etc. In Allen, the average price for per square foot house is $59 now, which is decreasing by 15.7% from previous year. The average listing price of properties is $376,000 this year, while, average home sales price is $124,068. The total number of home sales also is decreased by 68.7% in 2012, until now.

To improve the life quality, the city is also offering with new facilities to its residents. There are active book clubs, civic clubs, library, senior activity center and huge park areas, which are also lively, because of frequent use of them by the city dwellers.
