The Great Southwest is a historic course rich in history and it has been used by both Pros and amateurs alike. This is a course that is regarded by many enthusiastic golfers as a “must play” course when in Texas. Members enjoy several wonderful facilities including a full driving range and vast putting green. The golf course, practice facility and a chic clubhouse provide an ideal place for golfers to meet and enjoy their time. The club is a members’ only area. This is where the love of the game is shared. Members’ involvement in the affairs of the club is promoted through committees, associations and the board of governors.
The two main associations in the club which help in the planning of annual events for the members are the Men’s Golf Association and the Ladies of Great Southwest. The two associations have an organized structure that allows members to showcase their leadership skills. Members in the club are encouraged to join their respective gender based associations. In this club members are allowed to invite their friends to become members, “Membership by Invitation”. This tradition has helped the club to grow with members looking at each other as being part of a larger family.
