There are many residential communities nestled in Highland Village, including the popular Castlewood and Highland Shores. The city was incorporated in the early ‘60’s, although its population only stood at a meager 516 making it more of a small outside town than a city.
Today’s Highland Village is still primarily residential, however, has begun a great wave of business development that is bringing greater growth to the city. The area today encompasses 6.4 sq. mi. 5.5 of which is land. There is a median income of $102,141, with home costs that can range quite high past $500,000. Students attend schools within the Lewisville ISD, with exemplary scores across the board.
There are master planned communities like Highland Shores found in Highland Village, which does increase the cost of homes and bring in a greater value to both the home and quality of life.
