Mesquite is not only a flavor associated with barbeque. It is also a city in Texas that is located within Dallas County, quite close to the popular city metro area of Dallas, Texas. The city has a quite large population for the outer rim of Dallas, rounded at 140,000. The city’s renewal project, conveniently named Project Renewal, was its ultimate effort at rebuilding, reinvention, and preservation on a long term strategic basis to ensure the future of the city is as bright as its many memories.
Founded in 1873, the area has since grown and prospered as a farming community that has crop of corn, cotton, hay, and sugar, using railroad transportation for exportation.
There are several schools in the city which are located in the Mesquite ISD, the Dallas ISD, and even the Forney ISD. There are five public schools and the Dallas Christian High School within the area.
