The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
If you want to see one of the single most beautiful places anywhere in the Dallas area then you simply have to pay a visit to the Arboretum, an incredible work of botanical artistry which spans over 66-acres of land. The Dallas Arboretum itself had a good start in life because the land it's on now was originally owned by the DeGolyer family (who were noted geophysicists) and even though it was originally proposed as the site in 1940 it took several decades for that decision to become final.
The Arboretum itself is made up of several amazing gardens such as the DeGolyer Gardens, Jonsson Color Garden, Palmer Fern Dell, Lay Ornamental Garden and Boswell Family Garden amongst others. Even though you might not believe it the Dallas Arboretum has more than 540,000 visitors pass through its gates each year...
