Last week we explored how to access Bryant Irvin and Hulen from Arborlawn off the Chisholm Trail Parkway.
Chisholm Trail Progress Update!
This week our next stop on the Parkway is the Cityview commercial district of Fort Worth! But first, an exciting update on the CTP. NTTA OPENS CHISHOLM TRAIL PARKWAY MAINLANE RAMP TO INTERSTATE 30! Last week I shared about the closures through August 3rd. Well that was to prepare for the completion of the newly openned ramp. Also, Direct-connector ramps at Interstate 20 being completed and opened to traffic and more closures are scheduled for this weekend. Chisholm Trail Parkway Closure: Forest Park Blvd., Aug. 9-11 So be wary during your commute through Fort Worth for delays that lead to future progress along the CTP!
Now let's shop Cityview!
You can find everything you need in the Cityview commerciall district, from Hulen Mall, chain stores and resturaunts, to gated apartment homes and senior living facilities. Acces from Chisholm Trail at Arborlawn exit and procede south to Overton Ridge which runs east/west between Hulen and Bryant Irvin (another access point to these major streets that run north/south paralell to CTP, but do not intersect). Since the I20 access to CTP is not yet complete, you must now use this route to gain access to the freeway as well. Taking the west access road to I20 will also take you to Khols, Garden Rigde and Lowes shopping strip, then on to Bryant Irvin. Taking the east access road will lead you to Hulen Mall then on to Hulen.
Overton Ridge hosts my favorite Japanese resturant in Texas, Sushi Tao. I don't eat
sushi myself, but my husband does. He thinks their sushi is top rate! I like the rolls with
tempura and teriyaki dishes. They have traditional Japanese drinks and cocktails such
as Saki and plum wine as well. My favorite is the plum wine cocktail!
Don't forget my kids favorite entertaimnent, Main Event, between Overton Ridge and the
120- service road. My son had his 18th birthday party there! The guys had a blast,
including my husband, who is the biggest toad in the pond! They played laser tag,
billards, shuffleboard, bowling and video games. Main Event also features dining and a
full bar, and their food is great! They even have many flavors of gelato! YUM!
You will also find Target, Costco, and Hulen Movie Tavern, Old Navy, Michaels, and
Bed Bath and Beyond amongst the many other shops and resturaunts on Overton
As I mentioned earlier, Overton Ridge links Hulen and Bryant Irvin, which also have
many commercial offerings. in The Cityview area of Bryant Irvin you can find The
Specs specialty food store and shopping center with Razoos cajun resturant, Hallmark
cards and gifts, and many other retail shops. Across from the Hulen Mall on Hulen,
there is Ross, Panera, Red Lobster, Radio Shack, and the Vitamin shoppe, to name a
Regardless of what you are looking for, you should be able to find it somewhere in the
Cityview area. Oh, and did I mention car dealerships south on Bryant Irvin? Well, just
check it out for yourself to see all that Cityview has to offer.
But what about residential, you may ask?
I already mentioned the apartment complexes, those can be found on Overton Ridge and south on Bryant Irvin. To find single detatched homes, head east of Hulen. There are just a few neighborhoods in that area, they are 1950-70's and range in price from to 100,000 to 600,000, and include townhomes, traditional and colonial style homes. These neighborhoods include:
Willow Lake townhomes
If you'd like to know about the home buying process, we'd love to tell you all about it.
