Around 200 New Jobs Coming to Downtown Dallas Soon
Downtown Dallas is fortunate to be seeing over 200 new jobs coming to the area. Comparex USA is bringing its high-tech headquarters to downtown Dallas offering more than 200 jobs with it. It’s a German-based global cloud solutions and software company that was looking to open a new North American headquarters.
It’s going to set up shop at the Plaza of the Americas in downtown Dallas and will sit on the 19th floor of the tower at 600 North Pearl Street. Here is a look at the new jobs coming to Dallas.
About the addition of Comparex USA Inc.
The company’s new headquarters is set to include a major sales and operations center. The location on Pearl Street in the Plaza of the Americas is expected to support their aggressive, high-growth business model. Since the city has been working with Comparex for a couple of years now, they were aware that bringing in Comparex would add over 200 jobs to downtown.
While many high-tech companies have expressed interest in moving to downtown Dallas, it’s exciting for Comparex to have been chosen for the envious location. It’s an attractive location for their employees because many want to live downtown rather than working in the suburbs.
After Comparex looked at many other sites for the potential headquarters location including Cupertino, California, Iselin, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington, they landed on downtown Dallas as the best choice.
What to expect
The business has signed a three-year lease and has expansion options available. They’ve already started construction for tenant improvements to the space that are costing over $500,000. Employment for over 200 workers will happen by the end of 2016 averaging salaries of $85k.
The city, in turn, is granting an economic incentive grant to Comparex for the new headquarters, which includes a $350,000 Chapter 380 economic development grant. In exchange, the company must spend at least $400,000 in tenant improvements and ensure a minimum of 90 full-time equivalent employees are hired by December 31, 2016 for the first installment of the grant amounting to $175,000.
This is an exciting time for downtown Dallas and those seeking employment in high-tech careers.
