Elmendorf, Texas is in Bexar County and is part of the New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area of San Antonio. The city’s population as of July 2007 is 754, 52% of which are females. Having a total area of 1.2 sq mi, all of which are land, there is a very low population density in the area of only 610 people per sq mi. The city was founded in 1885 and was named after the historic former mayor of San Antonio, Henry Elmendorf. Elmendorf is located at 29 degrees 15.31 N and 98 degrees 19.50 W on the map.
