"My wife and I’s experience with Pete Borges and his staff was superb. We began looking to purchase a home in April 2012. The first time my wife and I met with Pete, we felt that Pete was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the home buying process. My wife and I looked at numerous homes. Pete never tried to steer us away from a home we wanted to look at. While looking at the homes, he was always positive about the homes, even foreclosures.  He would give us resources to fix up the deficiencies in the home.  After looking at several homes, my wife and I finally picked the house we wanted to purchase.

 At that point, my wife and I found a mortgage company. During the loan application, my wife and I had nothing but problems with the mortgage company. Pete’s assistant, Stacy, was nothing but helpful during the application process. When it came time to close, Pete and Stacy analyzed our loan paperwork (with my wife and I’s permission). After looking over the loan paperwork, Pete immediately called me. He informed me the mortgage company was trying to charge us $3600 for closing costs. He informed me, the way the contract was signed, we should not be paying more the $1500 in closing costs. The mortgage company was trying to make more money than lawfully acceptable, due to us using the VA Loan. Stacy called me up and referred us to another company. The other company quoted us that we should only be having closing costs of $360. Unfortunately, due to our rent lease was coming near to expire; we were not able to have enough time to fulfill the other mortgage company’s paperwork requirements. After listening to Pete and Stacy’s advice and few emails with the original mortgage company, the mortgage company called me up and told me, my wife and I would close with little to no closing costs.

When it came time to close, the mortgage company was shuffling their feet. Stacy stayed on top of them trying to get us to close on time. Due to the high charges, the mortgage company was trying to charge, we ended having to extend our closing date to the next day, causing Stacy to again, contact the seller’s agent asking for an extension of the contract. The extensions were not due to Pete and Stacy by any means. Stacy worked very diligently to get us to close in time. Stacy would call me almost every hour, giving me updates about the closing.

If it wasn’t for Pete and Stacy, I strongly believe my wife and I would still be looking for a home and another mortgage company. We finally closed on the 7th of May 2012. Pete expressed, that he never came across a mortgage company, like the one I chose. Even through the loan process, Pete and Stacy were nothing but professional and helpful.  I will recommend Pete and his staff to everyone I know and don’t know. Thanks to Pete and his staff, my wife and I are now enjoying the house of our dreams.
