Named Rowlett during the late 1800’s, the town began to grow and develop, adding railroads and stops to ensure that transportation was plentiful for proper growth financially within the town. Incorporated in 1952, Rowlett’s population stood at 250, growing year by year and decade by decade, reaching 44,503 by the year 2000. Most of the households within Rowlett are married couples and families, which have populated the area due to the great affordability of the town. Students of the city take advantage of education through the Garland ISD and Rockwall ISD, with several public schools found in the city boundaries.
