SMU Students & Greenville Ave homes for Sale

Greenville Ave is just on the outside of Dallas and very close to SMU.  Its proximity to the college lends itself to a very eclectic population.  Knows by the locals as Upper and Lower Greenville Ave there are many bars, eateries, live music and other types of night life that keeps the neighborhood hopping and active.

Between lower and upper Greenville, upper Greenville would be considered the more upscale of the two.  The homes and real estate in upper Greenville Ave is more exclusive than in lower Greenville Ave.  However both areas are pleasant, enjoyable locations to eat, have fun and live.

Mockingbird Station, located in Upper Greenville Ave is one of the new sub divisions in Greenville.  It features all the new types of homes and businesses that you would expect in a new community.   An urban type village, it features loft living and many places to relax and enjoy yourself. Greenville’s population supports this type of living as 36% of the residents are under the age of 25.  On the other end of that spectrum 15% are over the age of 65.

There are many major corporations that support the job market in Greenville.  The largest of which is L-3e Communications followed by Presbyterian Hospital.  You can also find first class entertainment by attending the Kenneth Threadgill Concert series which brings many different types of performers to the Municipal Auditorium.  This concert series is very popular and enjoyed three times a year.  Other entertainment venues include the Greenville Ave Entertainment Series, the Greenville Ave Follies and many art festivals.  Greenville Ave also has bowling, movies, shopping and other types of entertainment.  There is something for everyone here. 

With cool winters and hot, humid summers, Greenville Ave is an outdoors neighborhood.  You will find residents and visitors strolling the streets, browsing the arts festivals or just in their yards enjoying the weather and those around them.   It is a great place to live, work and have fun and is close enough to Dallas that anything missing in Greenville Ave can certainly be found in the Dallas area as well.
