Princeton Texas

Posted by Kevin Harrison - Denton on Thursday, July 15th, 2010 at 6:23am.

The most frequent adjectives I heard when I recently visited Princeton  from local residents was either "Peaceful" or "Tranquil"! Certainly the right words for folks looking for a home to avoid the Hustle & Bustle of an all too often busy urban setting.

Located about 35 miles northwest of Dallas with McKinney as its closest big city neighborhood, Princeton is ideal for those looking for a quieter pace at home and still have a half to hour commute time to employment centers, shopping and the like. Princeton's 2000 census described a town of around 3500 residents in this peaceful Collin County Burg and the 2010 census should show an increase as new neighborhoods have popped up in Princeton!

Princeton has its core of enterprises and businesses for everyday conveninece, many situated along the 380 corridor and major shopping centers are close by along Highway 75. Princeton's Economic Development Corp. has a 108 acre business park in the works and Princeton was listed as the 3rd fastest growing area in the Metroplex since 2008 with the average home price in Princeton at $120,000! Having available land for moderate home prices and business expansion are all great indicators of the good things to come for Princeton especially for those on the front end of the growth ready to take advantage of the expansion!

Princeton Independant School District is a 3A district with a state championship under their belts and a Recognized School District by TEA. No small feat for a district with a large growth rate in keeping up with today's academic demands and a building program. The District's Motto;"Improving the World, one Student at a Time" pretty much says it all about those we entrust with the education of our children.

In all, Princeton reminds me very much of the growing area along 380 where I live in Denton County with its time honored traditions combined with new growth that makes it the perfect place to call Home!

Stay tuned as our next installment will feature a number of Princeton's newest and exciting neighborhoods!

Certainly a desirable place to work, live, play and visit. Hopefully the rapid growth and development does not take away the features that Princeton has been known for all these years...

Princeton has seemed a little more country before but is definitely building up commercially. I think it's just gorgeous there and anybody looking to move to the city will be very happy they did.
