Three new hotels expected near DFW Airport

(DFW International Airport) - Irving-based Patriot Hospitality is developing three hotels in Irving to compete with other hotels near DFW Airport. A Crowne Plaza, a Hotel Indigo and what could be a Cambria Suites will open by 2010. Together, the three are expected to cost $40 million. The Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo will be simultaneously built and physically linked. The Crowne Plaza will have about 160 rooms and Indigo about 90, at the site near Las Colinas Boulevard and State Highway 161. They'll have a combined 200,000 sf, and could cost $30 million. Rates at the Crowne will be around $170 a night. The Hotel Indigo will cost about $180 a night. The third hotel could be near State Highway 114 and Esters Boulevard. The hotel would have about 100 rooms and 3,000 sf of banquet space. That project is expected to cost about $10 million. Irving has 77 existing hotels with 111,350 rooms - and another 800 to 1,200 rooms in active development or construction, according to the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau.
