Frisco’s Affluent Setting in Dallas, Texas

It isn’t difficult to imagine the wide expanse of Texas cities, full of great suburbs and incorporated towns that have been around to see the development of Texas and the more affluent areas around them. Frisco is one of the more affluent sections found in Dallas, TX, which is actually an incorporated city found within the metro area of Dallas, amassed through Collin County and Denton County.

The fast growing suburb is made up of the more affluent and high profile homes, which can resemble old and new Texas styles quite well. Frisco remains one of the fastest growing neighborhoods within Dallas, TX, growing around 70,000 between 2000 and 2008 to 100,000. Most of this growth can be attributed to the late 90’s suburban development within the northern Dallas section along the border of Plano.

Most Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex professionals today choose Frisco for their home, offering the home away from home feeling that gets out of the busy public life and provides a great nestling spot. Frisco has been “Tree City USA” since 2003, designated by the National Arbor Day Foundation Growth Award, for three years running. This award is due to the great environmental enhancement within the suburban area, as well as the many improvements made to the neighborhood to ensure “green-growth” with population growth in the neighborhood.

As of 2010, there was a recorded population of 116,989 in Frisco. There are several different retail centers within Frisco, including a regional mall, Stonebriar Centre, which includes 165 stores, IKEA which amasses 28,800 sq. mi., and great restaurants. There is even the Cinemark theatre, which was developed in 2010 for the Frisco residents to enjoy.
 
The median house value is currently $238,600, which is one of the higher areas of Dallas. Many homes can be found higher than $300,000, with more moderately priced homes as low as $96,637 for mobile homes which can be found scattered throughout the large suburb. Median rent in the area is much higher than other areas as well, around $1,200.

The many aspects of Frisco add to its welcoming nature that greatly attracts the professionals within the metro area neighborhood, which has adopted the “Home Rule” policy in which it pretty much maintains its own legislation. This is a community voted policy that continues to keep the residents of the neighborhood happy and content as they enjoy recreational and social attractions that are often attractions for visitors as well.

Longwood Homes wrote: Great overview of the rise of Frisco, TX. It's amazing to see that kind of growth in the area. I remember when I used to live in Dallas 20 years ago, and no one I knew even mentioned Frisco.

Seattle Homes wrote: I know there are also a few sports teams and activities that make Frisco a more appealing city as well. I'll have to recommend Frisco for any of my Seattle homes sellers if they are moving to the Dallas area.
