City of Saginaw the place to live
Posted by Barbara Newton on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 at 12:06pm.If you like the small town feel but want the big city conveniences, Saginaw is the place for you.
Established in the early 1800 and named after a town in Michigan. Its grouth really started taking off in the late 1800 when the railroal came thru town. At the time grain was a big export and the original grain storage facilities can still be seen for miles and still today hold the title of the largest in the world.
Saginaw is centrally located within minutes of the Down town Ft. Worth area and if you like fishing and other water sports, Saginaw is right next door to two well know lakes ( Eagle Mountain and Lake Worth).
The population is a little over 19,000 people now, but this is up fron the 12,000 mark back in early 2000.
Even with all the grouth Saginaw has seen in the last decade, it still likes to think of itself as a friendly small town.
Lots of new homes continue to go up and on the whole the housing market has remained very affordable.
When people are choosing where they want to live, two things are top on their list.
One is good schools and the other is affordable housing, they have one of the best school districts in the North Texas area (Eagle Mountain / Saginaw) and in the last few years have added several new schools at all levels to meet the growing need. They have 2 High schools now and will be building a third in 2012, there are 5 middle schools and 13 elementary. This school district also services two ajoining towns Blue Mound and parts of Fort Worth with over 16,000 students. They are growing at an average of 8 to 10% a year. They are also proud that they are a fully accredited district.
If you are one of the many service families being transfered to the North Texas area, you will find Saginaw to be one city you want on your must check out list. It is an easy commute to the base and it will be easy to find the perfect home to meet all your family needs.
Saginaw welcomes all, new families, new business anyone that wishes to come to the area. Their quote is "Come Share our vision and become a part of our future"
