Adkins, Texas is in the eastern metro area of San Antonio. This quaint and peaceful community was named after William Adkins Jones who was a pivotal character in Adkins as he was its first postmaster in 1896. Adkins is located 29.392N latitude and 98.236W longitude. The community is elevated 558 feet and follows the Central Standard time Zone. There are many schools near the vicinity of Adkins although there is only one which is actually in it, the Salem Sayers Baptist Church – School.
Adkins is an unincorporated community which means it is a part of Bexar County but is outside of any municipality and there is a small confusion about where the community actually is. Some say it is in Wilson, but it actually really is part of Bexar. Some establishments prefer to list their addresses down as East San Antonio instead of Adkins because it is more popularly known.
