Settlers began coming into Grapevine as early as the 1600's, the City was incorporated in 1907. In 1965 it became a Home Rule municipality which operates under the policy leadership of the Mayor and Council and the administrative leadership of a professional City Manager.
Grapevine is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The city is named for wild mustang grapes prevalent in the area. In recent years several wineries have opened in Grapevine, and the city has been very active in maintaining its historic downtown area.
The city is adjacent to Grapevine Lake, a large reservoir impounded by the Corps of Engineers in 1952. Most of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which serves the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, is located inside the city limits of Grapevine. In 2007 CNNMoney.com rated Grapevine as one of "America's Best Places to Live.
